On Independence Day, Delhi Police use cutting-edge CCTV analytics to improve security at Red Fort.
To improve security before to the Independence Day festivities, the Delhi Police has integrated sophisticated CCTV analytics in the vicinity of the Red Fort.
The goal, according to the police, is to lessen human error and make sure that any suspicious movements are quickly identified and dealt with.
The police have placed a sufficient number of CCTV cameras at and around the Red Fort, according to Manoj Kumar Meena, DCP North Delhi, who also claimed that the analytics will reduce mistakes in security plans.
According to DCP Meena, the analytics will be regularly watched, and any issues will be dealt with appropriately.
According to the officials, the new technology is designed to recognize several kinds of questionable activity. For example, the analytics will notify the monitoring crew if an unsecured bag is found close to the Red Fort. According to them, the system may also monitor and examine a person’s activities to spot trends like recurring presence in particular locations or odd behaviors.
The Red Fort area has been separated into many zones, each with video cameras to further improve security. Within the Red Fort grounds, a temporary control room has been set up. Various security services staff this room around-the-clock to supervise operations and plan responses.
More than 10,000 security guards, comprising Delhi police and paramilitary jawans, would be stationed in and around the Red Fort as well as other significant sites in north and central Delhi, according to the officials.
A group of federal intelligence agencies, along with all relevant security agencies, visited the Red Fort earlier today and convened for a security review meeting in preparation for the Independence Day celebration.
There would be a need for extra preparations to keep a more vigilant watch at the high-security event during the review conference, which took place against the backdrop of the attack on former US President Donald Trump during a public meeting, according to credible sources.
